Why workbooks matter

Child safety learning is most effective when it happens regularly, not as a one-time conversation. Through our work with schools, we have found that educators often need practical, age-appropriate resources that help them integrate safety into everyday learning.

The Safe Schools workbook series has been designed to support sustained engagement with child safety concepts, making them a natural part of classroom experiences and discussions. The first set of workbooks for UKG to Grade II is now available, with resources for higher grades being released in phases over the coming months.

Children develop their own understanding of safety by exploring how it applies to their body, emotions, relationships, choices, and everyday experiences. Through stories, reflection, and practice, they build the judgement, confidence, and skills to navigate the world safely.

Meet Ira & friends

At the heart of the series is a diverse group of recurring characters led by Ira and her friends. Representing different abilities, experiences, identities, and body types, these characters help bring safety concepts to life through relatable everyday situations.

As students encounter the same characters over time, they build familiarity and connection, creating opportunities for deeper engagement and reinforcing key learning through repetition.
